THE STORY OF ROI
At a young age I witnessed first hand the magnificent forces of nature when the ground ripped open just over a mile away from my home and volcanic magma spew in the air in incredible spectacle.
It was the beginning of the volcanic eruption in Westman islands of the south coast of Iceland.

My family, as all other inhabitants of the island, had to flee on fishing wessels to the nearest harbour town in Iceland.
Even though the eruption lasted only few months and most of the town was saved, the impact lasted for many years.
My home at the time is now under 55 feet of lava.
The effect on me as a young boy has stuck with me to this day.
Respect for nature and wow for its endless diversity have become parts of me.
After working in solution orientated construction for almost thirty years, it was time to let my inner creator out. The thought of taking modified cementious materials, adding the rocks of Iceland and working it with modern Terrazzo tools, became an exciting idea.
Adding clean mathimatical forms into the design and letting the raw natural metarials shine at the surface. Giving a unique way of experience raw nature at it's best, in a comfort of a home.
Thats is when ROI was born.
My hope is to be able
to bring natures raw materials
in unconventional way
to the table
for others to enjoy
for years to come.
